French Market – Parnell (Auckland)

The French Market could be considered Auckland’s best food market. La Cigale French Market is held Saturday’s from 8am to 1.30pm and Sunday from 9am to 1.30pm. The Market is inspired by the abundant food markets found in France.

You’ll find an an array of top quality products from both New Zealand artisan producers, and growers and from overseas. Shop for your weekly needs or just stop through on occasions for a visit. You’ll be sure to find what you need at the market with fresh produce, fresh breads, and pastries hot from our oven, French cheeses, export quality meats, smoked Akaroa salmon, healthy salads, flowers and orchids, Italian pasta, salamis and sausages, award winning Italian style cheeses, extra virgin olive oils, manuka honey, pâtés and terrines, jams and chutneys and lots more.

When you’ve finished your shopping you can sit at one of long communal tables and enjoy a coffee with something delicious from one of counters – your eyes might be much bigger than your stomach!! For something savoury try one of the markets famous Croque Monsieurs or mouth-watering beef bourguignon pie. If it’s something sweet you’re after then the choice is almost endless with hot croissants or a pain au chocolat – yum yum!
